“What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself.” Abraham Maslow
My interest in conscious leadership began at a very early stage in my career more than 18 years ago. My professional journey towards this goal has focused on helping individuals, groups and communities liberate themselves from the status quo and lead themselves and others to unleash their potential through raising their conscious awareness to achieve their goals and dreams. In addition to my private coaching practice, I am a Fellow Coach with BetterUp Coaching. I work with clients with diverse professional and personal backgrounds from all around the world, including emerging leaders, executives, women leaders, new parents, and traditionally marginalized groups.
My top five strengths according to the StrenghtsFinder Tool are connectedness, relator, strategic, responsibility, and belief.
I spent the first five years of my professional journey in advertising, public relations and then fund development for various nonprofits in the area of health and human services in the Silicon Valley. My interest in global affairs inspired me to enter the realm of advocacy, political organizing, and international development where I spent the next 10 years of my career. While in graduate school, I established my private consulting firm that partnered with advocacy groups in Washington D.C., and later worked for the National Democratic Institute (NDI), a leading international nongovernmental organization. I traveled frequently to the Middle East and North Africa to facilitate and implement capacity building programs for emerging leaders. My desire to see more individuals unleash their potential and become "the change they want to see in the world," compelled me in 2013 to enter the realm of professional coaching, where I believe I have found my true calling in life.
I believe that we could all do better than the status quo, particularly when it falls short of our expectations as individuals and as members of society. The status quo is any state where we might feel unable to reach our fullest potential due to inner or outer barriers. By overcoming it, we can all become influential, inspirational and motivational leaders. In my work in fundraising in the Silicon Valley for various nonprofits or in advocacy and international development in Washington D.C., I have assisted citizens around the world to liberate themselves from the status quo. In my work as a professional coach through my private business, I have helped individuals work through releasing inner blocks and shifting into levels of consciousness that allow them to overcome their personal status quo. Whether it is communities, societies or individuals, my goal is to support individuals aspiring to become conscious leaders align with their best self, a key ingredient to success, happiness, and fulfillment.
My niche is conscious leadership, which entails “leading” our thoughts, emotions, and actions “consciously” by moving out of autopilot or default modes of thinking, feeling and acting that keep us stuck in the status quo. One of the first areas I work with clients on is raising their self-awareness, because it is a prerequisite to beginning to “choose” to live from higher levels of consciousness, a state that has been proven to produce a happier, healthier, more fulfilled and successful life. In this state, we not only are our best self, but also inspire and motivate others around us to be their best self. In short, it is the state that produces great leaders who communicate effectively, have high emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.
I love the realms of neuroscience and emotional intelligence, and how they affect our consciousness. My clients have found it extremely valuable to use tools and methods rooted in neuroscience and emotional intelligence to reprogram their personal consciousness. As they change the way they think, feel and act, because of adopting new beliefs, creating new habits and/or eliminating inner blocks, they are able to produce a new set of outcomes in all aspects of their lives. This triggers a powerful transformation in them that begins on the inside and has a ripple effect on their outside world!
